The Israeli chapter of the AOC was founded officially in February 1996 by Dr Abner Ephrath, after consulting with the former president – Mr. Craig Johnson in the national conference in 1994 (Washington, DC). The chapter’s charter was presented to the membership by Mr. Paul J. Westcott, then VP of the AOC, on Aug. 8, 1996. Back then membership was about 30 members.
Since then we set the goals of the chapter, increased membership dramatically – there are about 140 AOC members in Israel, and established our pattern of activities, which is not so easy here. Though we still have a long way ahead of us, we managed to achieve some important milestones, the most significant of which is our open national meeting in September 1998, the Israel Jubilee conference. The program and abstract booklet of this meeting is attached to this proposal, and probably speaks for itself. However, few remarks are in place here.
We are now ready for the big challenge – hosting the International AOC conference in our country.
